I’ve been talking about getting me a little black dress for a while. First, I say that I want a little black dress, then I add “and an occasion to wear it.”

This weekend I finally have that occasion! I’m going to a party in a place called “The Velvet Room” which I can imagine is either really swish, or really trash. I figure me, in a little black number is appropriate either way.

With an occasion in tow, it was time to shop. So two nights ago, I hit up the mall with one of my favourite people (shout out to Mom here, she’s seriously the best person to go dress shopping with) and although we didn’t have time for many stores, we knew the right ones to go to first.

I ended up trying on over 10 dresses and although I liked some, only one was worthy of purchase. It needed accessories though, so we continued to shop. Holy Discount Mania!!!

I now have a dress to wear, a necklace with matching earrings, a bangle, a broach, and a fabulous new hair cut. All I’m missing are the shoes. With only three shopping evenings left before I head out of town, my fingers are crossed that I have some luck.

I did find a pair that I liked but they weren’t in my size. If all goes well, they’ll be at the store close to my work. I’m headed there now – wish me luck!
