So I’ve been told that people will get bored of my blog if I keep posting Matt Giraud updates and videos. I beg to differ. But if a story is what you want, well here you go.

Last week has been rough. First of all, the sperm bank that was my father is now known only for the unsanitized douchebag that he is. This is a fitting title, since his wife is a dirty cunt.

I don’t like dropping the c-word, honestly. But let me explain why this word suits her. First, she’s ugly. Inside and out. Miserable, and ugly. More specifically, she tried to sabotage the relationship between my mother and I when I was just a youngin. Feeding me several lies.

She told me countless times that it was MY fault that my grandfather didn’t like her, which is totally classy considering he’s no longer with us. She BLAMED me when my father had an affair (and got caught). She tried to ruin my wedding, and she has driven a permanent wedge between me and my brother.

So ya, she’s the c-word all right. A big, dirty cunt. I’d post a picture but I think the computer would crash and life as we know it in the Internet world would soon become extinct.

So the douchebag that is her counterpart gets all upset. Doesn’t understand why I would drop the c-word so freely. Are you kidding? So instead of telling me how upset he is, he hacks into his other daughter’s Facebook account and starts saying nasty stuff on her behalf. Tells my husband some things, my mom some random stuff, and myself. To me, he says something to the effect of “I’m not a sister” or something. Trying to make me think that a 13-year-old doesn’t love me. Big, strong man…

He even said things to my friends. My friends who have know idea what’s going on. And it’s all incoherent babble. Like worse than alcohol-induced. That’s right, daddy… we all know you’re back on the coke. Douchebag.

So I call him and tell him off. As if he wants to yell at me for calling his wife a cunt, then actually get to the heart of the issue… He married the cunt, now he has to deal with it. Serves him right.

So I’m over all that drama right? Then I get a letter from the government telling me that my husband’s application for permanent residency has been rejected. Don’t even get me started here. They fucked up. So in this whole recession that is our way of life, I have to panic that I might lose my job, and my husband can’t even get a job because he’s just an immigrant… Scratch that. He’s just a visitor. On permanent fucking vacation.

And I’m sick. Stupid flu. At least it’s not the pig flu. No irresistable urge to roll around in the mud. Yet.

So why have I been posting about Matt Giraud? Because I’m sick. I’m tired. I’m stressed. I’m overworked and underpaid. My husband might be deported. Life sucks.

But Matt – he’s a breath of fresh air and a temporary escape. So let me have it.

This is the story of Josey Muller, a 15 year old, average girl with two brothers and two best girl friends. Everything seems to be all figured out for Josey, until her mother drops a bomb on her.

Josey has an older sister, one that was put up for adoption at birth (25 years before). Now Josey has to cope with not being the only daughter, and no longer the smartest. She seems to be in a competition with a girl whom she has never met and yet has everything that Josey has dreamed of.

Underdahl has a way of telling stories that draws you in to the character whether or not you can relate or sympathize, by the end of the novel you will. It breaks your heart to get inside the mind of Josey Muller, and later – her sister as well. But a valuable lesson is learned, love comes in many forms, and your heart is capable of loving so long as you open it.

I recommend this novel to anyone looking to find themselves, or their place in their family.

And a special thanks to S. T. Underdahl herself, for sharing such a big part of her life with us.

Divorced, Hardev Dange lives in a house that he can not afford and is very close to filing for bankruptcy to make ends meet. He is quadriplegic and has very little use of one arm only. He relies on constant help and support from his son, Emile, an his caregiver, Rodriguez.

Emile is the second oldest of Hardev’s three children. He studies curses and anthropology at university and has no other interests. He, like so many others, is struggling to find himself.

Birendra is the eldest daughter. She is engaged to Victor and other than the wedding and her future marriage, there is not much else going on with her. She’s described as slightly careless and unaware of her surroundings. I would describe her more as the type of person who knows what she wants and goes for it.

Dorothy is the youngest child at age 17. She’s deaf and attends a school for the handicapped. She’s an apprentice at a tattoo parlour and is very artistic. She is also by far, my favourite character in the entire novel as she shows the most growth.

Though the family members lead very separate lives and have many secrets, they are all very alike. Each of them struggle to define the word ‘family’ and see themselves as a bundle of flaws and imperfections rather than for the unique individuals that they are.

Hardev wants nothing more than to keep his home and keep his family in the dark on his financial struggles. Birendra wants to move away with her husband to be and start her own ‘family’ though to her, ‘family’ is just her and Victor. Emile discovers who he is but does not know how to adapt, and Dorothy lives her life vicariously through the stories of others.

Priscila Uppal writes ‘To Whom It May Concern’ with a series of letters, texts, and emails amongst the novel itself. It’s a great way to spice up the story and keep the reader on his toes.

I really enjoyed this book as it’s filled with so much struggle, stress, heartache, and discovery. It’s a true testament to life.

So here is some of last week’s news.

http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/news/article2233878.ece

It’s taken me a while to post this because I needed to digest it first. There is a significant age gap between myself and my husband and although I haven’t heard directly “he’s old enough to be your father” I have heard that he looks similar to my dad. Ahem, vomit. They are both Caucasian and have shaved heads. That’s about as far as their similarities go.

For anyone who thinks he’s old enough to be my father, here are some pictures of what that would look like.

This is young Alfie who has just become a father at the tender age of 13. According to the article he slept with the 15-year-old mom, just once. Why are these kids fornicating? What makes them think it’s a good idea? Why are the parents supporting this behaviour?

The 15-year-old’s mother says “She’s my daughter. I love her and she will want for nothing.”

Excuse me? How will she ever learn if she wants nothing? You know this is going to happen again.

The 13-year-old’s father says of his son “He could have shrugged his shoulders and sat at home on his PlayStation. But he has been at the hospital every day.” Really? He SHOULD have been at home playing PlayStation instead of out there having sex.

The 13-year-old dad is one of 9 kids and the 15-year-old mom is one of 5 kids. Why don’t these kids learn from their parents? If their daughter follows in their footsteps they can be grandparents at age 26. Can you imagine? You are 26 years old and introducing your grandchild to your friends… OMG

Since this article was released apparently there has been an update. Now there is a 16-year-old boy who wants a DNA test done on the baby because he claims he’s the father.

OK so now you’re telling me the 15-year-old girl slept around. What is the world coming to? There is a video in the above article with the two kids and their daughter being interviewed. Just watching the girl burp her daughter, was disgusting to me. Vomit.

Don’t tell me my husband could be my father. He couldn’t, as you can see from the article. It’s just not right.

No one wants to hear that they could be related to their significant other. Parent or sibling or cousin even, it just isn’t right. Incest isn’t cool, man. Neither is children having children.

Figure out how to put a stop to it. Either take their babies away, or give them the operation so they cannot make the mistake again. I don’t want to hear that my hard earned tax dollars are feeding these kids. There are no lessons learned there.

Images: The Sun
