I can’t confirm that at the moment but regardless of it’s truth, there will be spin off stories of the side characters, so that’s a piece of good news.

Cat begins having dreams about a man from her past. The man is a master vampire and claims to be her husband. She has no recollection of the past but Gregor is persistent in getting back his wife.

This could ultimately destroy everything she has with Bones. Meanwhile, Bones becomes a stubborn jerk and leaves Cat in a pile of garbage. Literally.

Cat has to make a choice in life, and she sacrifices it all in order to lose the husband she doesn’t want, and gain the husband she knows and loves.

This is another excellent book. If it is the final one of the series, it was a great way to end it. There are moments when I want to punch Bones across the face. He behaves like a child and doesn’t trust his own wife. I’m glad for the character change though, it’s good to show that even our favourite characters have flaws. Nobody is perfect, even drop dead gorgeous vampires.

I look forward to the spin off on Spade and Denise. Should be interesting.

I found myself bored and struggling to read through this book. Which is how I felt about the second book in the series as well. It seems I have a pattern of liking every other book.

Every time I picked up this novel I saw the cover and just shook my head in disgrace. I realize all the covers in the series are very cartoonish but this one in particular just annoyed me.

Alright, on with the plot. Eric’s memory gets wiped but Sookie finds him and takes him in. Shortly thereafter, Jason goes missing.

Sookie wants to believe that the witches responsible for erasing Eric’s memory have also kidnapped Jason, but there are no leads on this theory.

This new Eric is completely endearing and Sookie struggles to resist his charm. Again, Bill is out of the country but given that he is officially the ex, Sookie finds herself thinking about him less.

Shape-shifters, vampires, and werewolves get together to fight a war against the witches that are causing trouble in town. But these witches are not easily defeated. They are very powerful and are ingesting vampire blood to boot.

There is a pretty good twist at the end, however apart of me wanted Sookie to end up with Alcide, again. Or perhaps she should end up with the new Eric and become committed to him. That’d be a great twist.

I don’t want to deter anyone from reading this book. If you like the series so far, this one will be enjoyable as well. There is lots of actions and with witches in the story, it proves to be more of a challenge for the original characters.

I, however, just could not get into it. I find I don’t care for any of them, aside from maybe Alcide, but even he gets on my nerves. I think I will wait a bit longer before picking up the next book. But I am determined to finish this series come hell or high water.

Just another typical week for Betsy as Queen of the Vampires.

The “Ant” makes another obnoxious appearance and you just want to smack her one right across the face. Laura, also known as ‘spawn of the devil’ is back as well, and we see a whole new side of her.

I read this book in one day, and I’m not a quick reader. It’s light, easy, and fun. As always Betsy finds herself in trouble and cracks jokes as she recovers.

What’s not to like?

P.S. Loved the epilogue! It’s a very cute way to question what is fictional.

It took me a bit to get into because it felt like it was more of the same, but it’s not.

First, Claire’s parents are back in town, and they have bought a house in the neighbourhood. They are enforcing their parental rights and have asked Claire to move out of the Glass House.

Second, Mr. Bishop (AKA Amelie’s father) has also paid the Glass House a visit, along with his two cohorts, Francois and Ysandre. Talk about unwanted house guests! To make things worse, Ysandre has a crush on Shane, and she doesn’t seem to take “no” for an answer.

Third, Monica is back to her evil ways. Like Claire doesn’t have enough problems.

To top it all off, there is a mysterious masquerade ball that vampires are attending with their human dates, and Claire isn’t invited.

All this happens before Claire’s 17th birthday, though everything seems to be happening before Claire’s 17th birthday. Which poses the question, how long will Claire be “almost 17”?

I did enjoy this novel, and like the other Morganville novels, this one also ends on a cliffhanger.

There was also a “Hannibal” moment that my stomach just couldn’t handle. It wasn’t cannibalistic, but something Myrnin did that was just too close to the character Hannibal. It was this moment that made me decide NOT to watch the rest of the Hannibal movies, so I can only hope that I get passed the Myrnin situation and read the rest of the novels.

For now, I must take a break.

It was the perfect conclusion to a fabulous series with everything you need to feel satisfied. It’s a happy ending for almost everyone. But alas I’m moving along too quickly.

The novel starts with the beautiful Cullen wedding and it was written so well I felt that I was attending it myself.

Alice organized and planned the wedding for Bella and Edward and she didn’t miss any details whatsoever. Bella’s dress was ideal for her and even though she doesn’t have the flawless features of a vampire, all eyes are on the bride. She is absolutely stunning. All clumsiness aside, she doesn’t falter once as Charlie walks her down the aisle.

They say their “I do’s” and are off to the surprise honeymoon. Edward has kept this a secret and Bella has no idea where she is going. Alice packed the bags so she can’t even predict the weather.

As time and money are of no object the honeymooners are able to enjoy every aspect of the island they are on. In what seems like no time at all, Bella discovers that she is pregnant. Because the child is half-vampire, half-human they decide not to take any further risks with the ‘monster’ and their honeymoon is cut short.

At this point the story is told from Jacob’s perspective. He discovers that Bella is pregnant and thus the tribe finds out as well. The tribe makes a decision to kill the monster before any trouble comes to Forks and the rest of the human population. Jacob is now completely torn. He agrees the child should be killed but doesn’t want to kill Bella in the process. The pregnancy is clearly hard on her and she has no chance of survival.

A bond is formed between Leah and Jacob because of their unrequited love for Sam and Bella respectively.

The novel then changes back to Bella’s perspective. She explains the pain and torture that she receives in the process of childbirth and her ultimate survival. Too soon the Volturi find out about the abomination of the child vampire and as this breaks the biggest vampire law they make a snap decision to destroy the baby and all those involved in the process. Given that the Cullen family has supported Edward and Bella thus far, they are all targets of the Volturi.

A bigger war is at hand and again the werewolves are involved. At this point I was a little disappointed. There was so much build up to this war and not enough action. I believe that Meyer made her point but I still would have liked to see a bigger battle.

The story ends just after the battle and it may have well ended with “and they all lived happily every after.”
I did love this novel and this entire series, I think I just wanted a little more. Who am I kidding? I wanted a lot more – why did it have to end at all?!
