Here’s my favorite so far.

But this was just Javier Colon’s audition. I hope he doesn’t turn out like Andrew Garcia from American Idol. I loved him early on, and to this day, I still think he’s good… but he kind of plateau’d on AI. Here was his best performance.

Then the Xfactor 2009 Best Audition Ever goes to Danyl Johnson, click here to see. With a voice and an audition like that, how did he lose? I don’t know the answer, I don’t watch that show now, nor did I in 2009.

It’s over. Tonight the winner will be revealed. Here is a small recap of last night’s performances.

First, Lee sang “The Boxer.” Overall the judges thought it was alright but didn’t have enough oomph. I disagree. I thought he sang it better than the first time he did it, and it was a great start to the show.

Crystal sang “Me and Bobby McGee” and of courses the judges loved it. I thought it was alright, but I actually liked the first time she did it better.

Second, Lee sang “Everybody Hurts.” The song choice was fantastic for him and I really enjoyed it. The judges again said it was ok but not enough pow-wow for the finale. I think that REM is a hard band to cover; Michael Stipe has a richness to his voice that just can’t be duplicated. I find when people try to sound like him; they ruin what should have been a great song. Instead, Lee made it his own. I give him an A for effort.

Small segue here, Dashboard Confessional also covered “Everybody Hurts” and it was phenomenal. I couldn’t find the video, but here is the live edition of the song, if the last three minutes doesn’t captivate you, I don’t know what will. The video is a montage of One Tree Hill. Feel free to ignore the video; the song is all that matters.

Crystal sang “Black Velvet.” The judges loved it; I didn’t really care for any of it. I thought she was all over the place, and her dress was ugly. Not that that matters, but the hideousness of it was distracting.

Third, Lee sang “Beautiful Day.” It was alright I guess. Crystal sang “Up to the Mountain.” She sang it well, but I thought it was too dull for a finale song. I really wanted the show to go out with a bang. Where you’re left loving one contestant or both, and you can’t stop talking about such and such a performance the next day.

Overall the entire show was dull. Simon didn’t even give a mean critique just for the sake of it being his last. Big snooze fest. Based on last night’s performance, Crystal should win, hands down. However, I still love Lee so here are some of my favourite Lee DeWyze moments.

Oh and this is one of my favourite American Idol Season 9 moments. Andrew Garcia was given flack week after week, for not living up to his “Straight Up” audition. Then he sang this song. I cried. Mind you, I was supremely hormonal at the time, but still. He got his moment.

Well it happened. Casey James went home. This is how it should be honestly, Lee and Crystal were the better two and it was Casey’s time to go home.

I have to say though, I was unimpressed with him all season, I did like his final goodbye. He sang his song well, and he grabbed a little girl from the audience and sat with her to sing the tail end of the song. It was pretty adorable and scored many points with me.

Can’t wait ‘til the finale next week, it should be fantastic! As I stated yesterday, Lee is still my first choice, but unlike last year, I think the final two are paired up nicely and if Crystal wins, well she earned it too.

Let’s assume they read my blog and say “Good luck to you both!”

I can’t believe that as of tonight it will be down to the final two contestants and I have yet to blog about it.

I want to go on record and say that my number one choice for this season is Lee DeWyze. For me, he is this year’s Matt Giraud. Not to say that they are on the same level by any means, but last year I was uber crazy about Matt G, and now I’m all about Lee D.

If you remember, last year I blogged about Matt G plenty of times, but mostly because I had a super hot dream about him. This year there have been no dreams of Lee, but there is still time!

Anyways, it’s down to Crystal Bowersox, Lee DeWyze, and Casey James. Based on last night’s performances, the final two should be Crystal and Lee. Actually based on the entire season, the final two should be Crystal and Lee.

But here’s the thing, Casey is from Texas, and I believe between the three finalists, Casey comes from the most populated place, which means more votes. His hometown might not be the biggest, I didn’t actually do any research here, but the fact that he is from Texas should be enough.

Just like last season’s travesty, Kris Allen beating Adam Lambert in the finals. What a joke. But Adam didn’t need to win to be successful, and Kris is pretty well M.I.A even though he won.

My point is, if Casey ends up in the final two, we know it’s a popularity contest. I’ll still vote Lee in my heart.

So I haven’t posted in a while and today I thought about a bunch of random stuff that I could add. I’ve linked all the photos as well, so check it out! I’ve been busy.

Did they take a stab at Tatiana Del Toro? Yes, I think they did!

I actually clicked on the above link by accident. I was perusing an article about a movie in the making and the scroll feature on my mouse disabled. I clicked in the window to make it work and I accidentally clicked a link which brought me to my future boyfriend, Matt. Pretty cool odds, if you ask me.

After seeing this video I watched others on the “Idolatry” site, and I love these interviewers. They don’t hold back, they call ‘em like they see ‘em, and most importantly they call out the American Idol judges. Everyone always comments on the Idol Conestants, people forget about the judges. The judges aren’t perfect either though and it’s nice to disagree with them as well. A variety of opinions is always a bonus.

Fourth, Hitched or Ditched?

New reality show. I’m just checking out the new digs and they all seem to be reality shows. I don’t think I’ll continue to watch this one but I gave the season premiere a fair chance. Without giving away spoilers on the ending I just wanted to say that the bride and groom just needed ONE person to say “Whatever you decide, I will support you.” Without that, their relationship and perhaps each person as an individual, will suffer.

Last, but certainly not least, my good friend Stephy.

I’m so very proud of her. We all go through our tough times when our bad luck seems it will never end. But this girly here kept on going. Maybe not always with a smile, but at least with a brave face.

She got into her first choice law school and starts this September, which I cannot express my enthusiasm and excitement in words. Congrats hun, you deserve it!

AND Stephy has a wicked cool, super secretive job. This girl tells me everything and yet I’m not privy to all the details of said job, so we’ll just leave it there. I will say that I’m a little jealous! Check out her blog (click photo) to get a sense of her brilliance.

Isn’t she as cute as a button? Yes, she is!

I’ve decided to boycott the rest of this season’s American Idol because Matt is gone.
 
I really wanted to see him in the top 3 and I believe America got this one wrong.
 
We know that Adam is the best, he just seems to be in a whole other league – he will get deals beyond Idol and I feel his time should come to an end. I don’t want him to win, because in essence, he’s already won.
 
I’d like to see Allison in the top 3… I like Danny a lot, but I feel he’s done his time as well. And Kris… well I think I’m pissed MOST that Matt is gone because Kris is still in… ‘nuf said.
 
So I will continue to support Matt Giraud and I hope he continues his way in the music biz.

The judges used their save! It came down to Anoop, Matt, and Lil in the bottom three.

We all thought Anoop did NOT deserve to be in the bottom, not this week. It’s safe to say, America got the other two right.

However, I love Matt Giraud and although I can’t see him winning when he’s in the race against Adam Lambert, I still believe he deserves a fighting chance.

Lil Rounds doesn’t impress me. She’s talented, the girl can sing – no denying that. But she does not take the judges advice… ever. She can only imitate the original artist and she has problems with individuality. “No artistry” as Kara DioGuardi would say.

We sat on the couch and banked it would be Lil’s turn to go this week, but tables turned and my Matt was asked to sing for his life and with no piano this time.

I love the sound of his voice and the fact that he takes risks. They may not always pay off, and some weeks are better than others, but I’m still rooting for him. I’d like to see him in the top 3, and thanks to the judges save, that may now be a possibility for Matt Giraud.

Go Matt!

It took long enough, but finally Tatiana Del Toro is gone. I won’t miss her a bit.
The thing with her is, she’s not a bad singer, but she’s so obnoxious it’s painful.

When she first auditioned for American Idol, she had zero accent. The only time you heard a hint of Spanish in her was when she pronounced her name. And you know she did it that way on purpose. Rolling her R’s and giving it some ethnic flavour.

She talks way too much, if the camera is there and rolling so his her mouth. She says she wants to be an actor/singer/director/producer/dancer and the list goes on. There’s nothing she can’t do, it seems. When someone asks ‘how are you today, Tatiana’ the response is terribly long-winded. “I’m so good, and so happy, and so proud, and so grateful to be here, thank you so much, I can’t thank you enough, I love you, I love the judges, I love America, I love everyone, thank you so much, thank you thank you, my dreams and my prayers are coming true. This here is for all the guys that said I’d have to sleep with them to make it somewhere.” Yadda yadda yadda. I should also mention the annoying laugh that she inserts after every other word.

Did anyone else notice the comment about the guys she had to sleep with? Ok I highly doubt anyone would have said that to her. And even if it’s a common phrase that she hears, why EVER would you announce that on TV?

So after all the crying, bowing, laughing, talking, and other obnoxious manoeuvres, she finally earns a spot on the TOP 36. When it’s time for her group of 12 to sing, she chooses some ridiculous Whitney Houston song. Now any Idol fan knows that you cannot sing a Whitney song unless you’ve got the pipes and can blow it out of the water. No one ever can. I’m surprised, but Tatiana isn’t completely horrible. She does OK. When she’s done singing she stands there and waits for the judges criticism. She’s calm and patient. The judges ask her where the giggling drama queen is, and she says that she never in her life has ever laughed like that and all of her friends thought it was strange that she was laughing like that.  I doubt it. She was laughing like that for weeks. She clearly doesn’t have any friends.

Ryan asks her how she’s feeling and she says “it is up to fate and it is up to God and it is up to America” and she continues on with this string of words until Ryan shuts her up. All of a sudden her accent is back. She makes several references to her friends in Puerto Rico, and the Spanish is flowing. She was weird, and serious, and calm, and disturbing, and heavily accented. I have no problems with accents, I just don’t like the people that put them on and try to pass it off as real. Tatiana is Spanish. I get that. But for the last month of auditions there was zero accent and now all of a sudden your English is broken?

The next night the results are in and she’s out. Excellent. She’s crying and back to her drama queen self and all the cameras are on her despite the fact that the winner is singing his winning song. Honestly Tatiana, they were only taking 3 people from each group of 12. You had a 25% chance. Actually it was less of a chance because they were bringing in the top guy, the top girl, and the person with the next highest votes. You can’t be too surprised that you weren’t up there. You can’t take it personally, you just have to know that there were other people better than you. And if you don’t want to believe that, well believe that America voted wrong… but that was bound to happen so get over it.

The judges brought her back for wild card night. This means she has a second chance and she should be grateful. They give her a one minute video to say whatever she wants (they did this with each of the callbacks). Guess what. Her accent is back and heavier than ever before. And she was doing that weird, calm, psycho thing again.

She gets on stage for her second chance and the dumbass sings the same song. She sang this song at least once in auditions, once on stage as part of the TOP 36, and now again for her call back.

Paula calls her on her accent. She says “I’ve never heard that accent before” and Tatiana responds with “I’m like Jorge (another contestant), I think in Spanish and when I get emotional my English comes out funny” I don’t believe that at all and neither does anyone else.

Simon calls her on the song choice “If it didn’t work the first time why do you think it would work this time?” Then they cast her off.
She’s not worthy of the Idol show and she’s just too damn theatrical. I had to close my eyes while she was singing because I just couldn’t deal with her constant camera-awareness.

So she doesn’t make it back and the good ol’ drama queen comes out again. She’s crying and hyperventilating and Paula takes the time to tell her “this isn’t the end of the road” which I thought was nice of Paula. As far as I’m concerned, she’s blown any chances of a future career in fame. Maybe you should have taken those guys up on their sex offer – that probably would have gotten you further in life. If not, at least it would have gotten you sex. That’s probably out of the picture now too.
