I’ve been getting a lot of flack about not blogging as of late. I apologize. I wish I had a good excuse, but I really don’t.
I wish I could say that it’s because I’ve had a bit of writer’s block, but I’m not sure this is entirely true either. There are plenty of topics I could write about.
I could tell you about all the fun things I got for Christmas, including an awesome Edward fleece blanket, which was by far the biggest surprise, a new bedding set, which despite it’s comfort and style I have yet to put it on my bed. Sorry mom, that’s just laziness on my part. Oh, and I got a new portable DVD player which was definitely needed since the adaptor on my old one started to fail. This one is pretty and red. Love it, thanks boo!
My husband got some cool things for the holidays too, including a Blu-Ray player and a new home theatre system. It will look nice with our fictitious 52” flat screen TV. I say fictitious because I’ve been wanting one
for a while, as has my husband, but we need the perfect one at the best price, and we just can’t seem to agree. Surprisingly, it’s me who is disagreeing. We have found lots of great deals, but I’m not settling for anything less than 52” and why should I? It’s an upgrade!
I could also talk about our very uneventful New Years. It was quiet, and peaceful, and I was in bed and out cold by 12:10 AM. The next two days were spent in front of the TV. I was feeling a bit under the weather, and I just didn’t want to budge.
If I chose to talk about my New Years though, this would be a very short blog post indeed. Just like talking about how it’s entirely possible to be strangled by your pillow. That happened to me over the holidays too. No matter which way I turned, I could not get the pillow from around my neck. No, I’m not referring to suffocation either; the pillow was not over my face, just wrapped around my neck.
I’d also like to rant about horking. It’s the foulest sound I can think of in the office, and it’s constantly coming from the guy behind me. What exactly is the purpose of horking? It’s disgusting! Sniffing, I get. You need to blow your nose and there is no tissue at hand. Sniff, sniff. But what on Earth would make someone want to sniff so hard that the gross semi-fluid travels through your nasal passage, down your throat and into your mouth?
The guy behind me is not spitting, which means this filthy habit leads to swallowing. Why would you do that? The thought alone makes me want to vomit. Would you consider swallowing that, Mr. Horker? No, likely not.
Finally, I could talk about the reorganizing and redecorating we did of the house. Two days after Christmas we took down our tree and everything holiday-like and started to think about how we wanted our house. We got rid of old furniture, like coffee tables, end tables, entertainment units, etc. We bought some replacement furniture but not all things were replaced. There is a lot of space in our house now, and we have growing ideas.
I even went through the closets and storage rooms and reorganized and purged. A lot of our clothes went to homeless shelters. Everything looks nice and neat now. Just a few more adjustments here and there, and some new purchases and our house will look the way we want it to. I think the thing that will take the most time, is getting my husband’s desk sorted. He’s trying to minimize, which means he wants to buy a smaller desk and printer, and a more compact computer. I love the idea, but this is just not going to happen over night.
So no, I don’t have writer’s block. I can say that I was busy over the holidays, but I still could have found the time to post here. I didn’t. This isn’t the only place I’ve been slacking either. As recently pointed out by my old man, Roger, I have not read any books in the last three months and I have not continued my knitting project.
Instead, I’ve become enthralled with LOST. I have now watched the first 3 seasons on DVD, thanks for loaning them out Delton! It’s easy to get hooked. But no spoiling guys, I am just starting season 4 and if I get through the next two seasons as quickly as I got through the first three, I’ll be watching season 6 on TV when it debuts on February 2nd (tentatively).
I also started up another puzzle, though I haven’t been committed to this as much as I was with the Twilight puzzles. First off, it’s surprisingly harder. I had come up with a good system with the last two jigsaws, and I can’t get into a groove or find a handy system for this one. So it’s coming along much slower, but I’ll get there.
Oh yes, I also started a new puzzle book. This was a grocery store purchase from my husband to me, when I was under the weather and not budging from the couch. This book has a bunch of fun problem solving games including Sudoku, and crosswords that I actually understand. I find the time just flies by when I’m into the book.
So that’s my life in a nutshell. Sorry for not blogging more. I’ll make a better effort in the future. In the mean time, please enjoy the revamped site. It’s still in progress.
