Day 2 – Ontario SPCA

The commercials for OSPCA are heart breaking. So I did a search on Google and found this clip.

Now you’re probably asking yourself, how you can help. Or dabbing your eyes with a tissue, because Lucky made you cry and smile all in one.

If it were up to me I’d adopt all the animals and live on a farm. I’d donate my time and money to these hospitals and anything else I could offer. Unfortunately, there is no more space in my tiny house, as it’s already home to five furry (and not so furry) pets.

For those of you who are able to adopt and don’t know where to begin, you can find all of your answers here. For the rest of us who are not in a position to adopt, there are several other ways you can help the OSPCA.

Donations and monthly membership

OSPCA store – If you already have your pet, why not spoil him (and yourself) with OSPCA merchandise? There are gifts for everyone!

ONTARIO SPCA THIRD PARTY EVENTS – Throwing a party? Why not make it for a cause?

ONTARIO SPCA MOSAIK MASTERCARD – Sign up for this specific credit card and every time you use it, you support the OSPCA.

ONTARIO SPCA PERSONALIZED CHEQUES – If you need new cheques, ordering these will not only give you some cute pictures to look at on each cheque, but 10% of the purchase goes to the cause.

ONTARIO SPCA GRAPHIC LICENCE PLATES – These graphic license plates will help you to spread the word.

SEND IN YOUR USED STAMPS – The ‘Stamp Action Program’ will help the OSPCA receive funding.

COLLECT REWARD POINTS FOR THE ANIMALS – Donate your HBC reward points to the Ontario SPCA when you shop at the Bay, hbc.com, Home Outfitters, Zellers and DealsOutlet.ca

BUY BOOKS FROM THE SMARTER THAN JACK SERIES – Each book contains approximately 90 true stories showcasing clever animals. A percentage of each book purchase goes to the OSPCA.

And finally, if you’re not in Ontario but would like to help your nearest SPCA, the International SPCA is located here, or when in doubt you can Google “SPCA” and you’ll get all the answers you need.

Wow…. I didn't know whether to laugh, cry, feel sad, be happy…Whenever I see animals and children suffering it's heartbreaking, because generally you know it's an adult "human being" who's cause the suffering, and I wonder how people like that can exist. Though I use the term "people" loosely…I loved the way Lucky's tail was swishing about like a loon even though it must have been uncomfortable – such a brave dog! I hope there's a happy ending in sight :)
