Day 2 – The Secret

Have you ever come across a commercial on TV that you can’t get out of your head? You know, the one where as soon as you hear the first three seconds you scramble around looking for the remote to change the channel but by the time you’ve found it, it’s too late, the commerical is over and you’re singing some horrible jingle for the next 6 hours?

That was this one for me. Except now when it comes on, I smile and dance that silly routine or make up my own.

I don’t understand the costumes really. The “chocolate” has random balls placed sporatically on the body and the “caramel” has camel toe. Gross. I’m pretty sure I’ll never eat a Caramilk bar again but I still laugh at the ugly lady when she puffs out her cheeks.

So would you say this ad worked? Or was it a failure, like so many others?

I LOVE this commercial. When it comes on, I laugh my guts out – and my partner laughs at ME! It's a funny chain of events that also occurs when the little old lady in the grocery store pinney points at her eyes, then at the guy she just took money from, like "I'm watching you…"

LOL you know i was thinking about posting on THAT commercial too – the thing i hate most is the sound of the little old lady's voiceshe's creepy!

I love it. That creepy little, "where do you think YOU'RE going?" stops me in my tracks and gives me the shudders every time.

lol you must like horror flicks and thrillers.things that make me shudder do not make me want to watch again hahawhat a creepo voice – it's like winnie-the-pooh vs a zombie or something

  • jmorgandavis

Haha, you're right! It's exactly like Winnie the Pooh as a zombie!..and yes, I lurve horror movies. :)

It's got people talking, which is the main thing I guess. For me, it's just plain old confusing. I have no idea what it has to do with how Caramilk's are made.

and that is why Caramilk thinks they are clever. Because they just told us how they got the caramel in, without actullly telling us. I was told how they got the caramel in one time… it grossed me out.My guess was better and way more appealing

How do they get the caramel in? Please tell?

  • http://www.justkickinit.ca jacstar

lol my original guess was that they do it upside down.the top of the chocolate bar flipped over is kinda like buckets, they fill it up with caramel and then place the bottom of the bar on top and seal it off some how.i was told this theory is wrong.apparently it has something to do with crystallization of the caramel… think of it like astronaut food. i don't get it

  • Flamingo

That is kinda ew. In grade 5 I thought I knew all and I was sure that they used a syringe type thing to get the caramel in and then sealed off the hole…

lol can you imagine them using a syringe on each individual piece of every single chocolate bar? at least you know if you had that job, you'd never lose business (until they found a machine that could do it quicker)

  • Flamingo

yea, that was the flaw…but they must have some kind of machine somewhere that does that sort of thing.

that'd be disturbing though if it got used for something else sounds like the making of a good horror flick

  • Flamingo

Wow…I don't even know what else it could be used for…I don't want to think about it.
