I Smell Another Rant – 4

So here is some of last week’s news.

http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/news/article2233878.ece

It’s taken me a while to post this because I needed to digest it first. There is a significant age gap between myself and my husband and although I haven’t heard directly “he’s old enough to be your father” I have heard that he looks similar to my dad. Ahem, vomit. They are both Caucasian and have shaved heads. That’s about as far as their similarities go.

For anyone who thinks he’s old enough to be my father, here are some pictures of what that would look like.

alfie2alfie1

This is young Alfie who has just become a father at the tender age of 13. According to the article he slept with the 15-year-old mom, just once. Why are these kids fornicating? What makes them think it’s a good idea? Why are the parents supporting this behaviour?

The 15-year-old’s mother says “She’s my daughter. I love her and she will want for nothing.”

Excuse me? How will she ever learn if she wants nothing? You know this is going to happen again.

The 13-year-old’s father says of his son “He could have shrugged his shoulders and sat at home on his PlayStation. But he has been at the hospital every day.” Really? He SHOULD have been at home playing PlayStation instead of out there having sex.

The 13-year-old dad is one of 9 kids and the 15-year-old mom is one of 5 kids. Why don’t these kids learn from their parents? If their daughter follows in their footsteps they can be grandparents at age 26. Can you imagine? You are 26 years old and introducing your grandchild to your friends… OMG

Since this article was released apparently there has been an update. Now there is a 16-year-old boy who wants a DNA test done on the baby because he claims he’s the father.

OK so now you’re telling me the 15-year-old girl slept around. What is the world coming to? There is a video in the above article with the two kids and their daughter being interviewed. Just watching the girl burp her daughter, was disgusting to me. Vomit.

Don’t tell me my husband could be my father. He couldn’t, as you can see from the article. It’s just not right.

No one wants to hear that they could be related to their significant other. Parent or sibling or cousin even, it just isn’t right. Incest isn’t cool, man. Neither is children having children.

Figure out how to put a stop to it. Either take their babies away, or give them the operation so they cannot make the mistake again. I don’t want to hear that my hard earned tax dollars are feeding these kids. There are no lessons learned there.

This story makes me sad. You're right…why do these kids think they're old enough to have sex? They have nothing else to do?? And how the heck do these kids think they're going to support this baby? Sounds like everybody involved is in serious denial.

hey Christina, thanks for reading. This story is not only sad, but disturbing. If you click the link there are a few other pictures including one of Alfie, the 15-year-old mom and their daughter. The mom has to be like 2 feet taller and 50lbs heavier than Alfie. You know she took charge and dominated the kid. What on Earth made her look at that boy and say "hey, let's have sex" – gross!

I agree Jacki. This is a really sad situation and I'm sorry – why do parents allow their kids to have babies at such a young age? I'm not even going to say what I really want to say because I don't want to offend anyone, but it just seems all so wrong.. Sex was never a thought for me and 12, 13, etc. I was still playing kickball and baseball in the street until the lights came on and Mom forced me to eat dinner. Seriously, I think kids just don't see a future for themselves anymore. What happened to striving to go to college? I think more and more kids just fall through the cracks and lose their ambition, hope, and determination to follow healthier paths in life. This is a topic that Really Grinds My Gears (smile).

Sadly, this seems to be an all-too common occurrence in the UK (speaking as a Brit now living in Canada). Maybe not this particular age, but certainly as far as teenage pregnancies go. The Government has failed miserably – offering so much support and resources for pregnant teens, with benefits and social help – they almost invite teens to get pregnant.

Sex education is failing; parents are failing; the state is failing. Until this problem is looked at properly, and effective solutions put in place, this will just be the tip of a very big iceberg.

I couldn' believe when i read this last week. and now I heard something that there are 3 other boys claiming to be the father, but those could be rumours. Either way, This was really disturbing, and I actually heard a quote on the News from Alfie's Mother saying "I guess i have to give him the Birds and The bee's Talk again) HELLO! A little late!. The UK had the highest teen Pregnancy Rate in all of Europe. and like Danny Brown said above…The Sex education just keeps failing.

The whole thing is a topic for intense debate. But there isn't a debate at all, we're all on the same page. 30 years ago it was hard for teen moms, and it's that much tougher these days. Why can't we learn from other's mistakes?

If i were a single parent of so many kids, I think I'd take the time to explain to each and every one of them, how rough it is to be a parent (single or no). Given that the UK has the highest teen pregnancy rate, you think parents would go the extra mile to educate their children. They are becoming grandparents, and it's their own fault.

If the kids are smart enough to figure out sex, they must be smart enough to know better. So they're to blame too.

The last line in the above article talks about the youngest teen parent in the UK. A 12-year-old boy who knocked up the 15-year-old girl next door. It took him 6 months to fall out of the picture. I'd like to hear what happens to this Chantelle girl. She was so desparate to have a baby, i doubt she'll notice when all 4 of the so-called fathers drop out of the picture.

If the boy didn't look about the size of an 8 year old…no, it would still be a complete travesty. Of course, the irony here is that The Sun is pointing to this as another example of why Britain is broken. Yet this young 'couple' are their key demographic: working class and dumb.

Is a paper that thrives on Page 3 girls and celebrity titilation in any position to point the finger?

it sounds a lot like the Toronto Sun which dedicates it's page 3 to the sunshine girl.
